We had the privilege of working with Kaytie from Do or Dye Hair Studio here in Summerville last year for a branding session, so we were stoked when she reached out wanting to do another session this year!
You can check out our first session with Kaytie on the blog here.
This time the session wasn’t just for her though, but also for her friend and fellow salon-mate, Christine, the owner of Hair by Christine.
Kaytie and Christine are both amazing local hairstylists and Kaytie also does on-site bridal hair and makeup. They recently moved into a brand new salon space, so they wanted to capture some images to showcase their space and services for social media and their websites.
Christine was also looking to add a few professional head shots to her photo library, as well as images of the studio to share with clients.
Kaytie wanted to build on the content from our first session and create some images that would show off what she is focused on this year in her business – blonding services and bridal hair and makeup.
Plus they both wanted a few images showing the admin side of work, because as all entrepreneurs know, there is always more happening behind the scenes than what clients get to see.
As small business owners ourselves, getting to work with other small businesses in our local community is honestly one of our favorite things. As we’ve grown and dialed in on our own brand, we’ve been able to put together a list of important questions to answer before each session.
We ask our branding clients a TON of questions, but the 3 main ones are:
- What is the mission of your business and what are your values?
- Who is your ideal client and what would you like to communicate to them?
- Do you have any upcoming launches or products and services you want to highlight?
Once we answer these main questions, we’re able to put a plan in place and brainstorm for ways to visually bring our branding clients’ visions to life. We touch on everything from outfits and locations to working shots and props to incorporate.
We hope you enjoy checking out their photos as much as we enjoyed making them!
