Our last article talked about some of our favorite ideas for your wedding reception decor! All of the items are from Etsy and are simple yet amazing ways to add some character to your wedding reception space. Today we’re sharing some of our favorite photos from Brittany & David’s engagement pictures in Charleston, SC. Brittany and David were visiting from out of town, so we met up in downtown Charleston at sunrise to take advantage of the quiet streets and dreamy light for their engagement session.
This was their first time having professional photos done, but we assured them it would be a super fun time and they had nothing to worry about. Brittany describes David as the life of the party, and likewise, David describes Brittany as a happy, bubbly girl! They both love to go on walks, so that’s exactly what we did throughout downtown!
Waterfront Park
Waterfront Park is a great spot to visit for your Charleston engagement photos because it’s so versatile with tons of different beautiful spots in one area. We decided to start their session at the Pineapple Fountain, which was perfect, because it’s where David proposed to Brittany!
We also visited Chalmers Street, which is popular and most well known for its cobblestone streets. It is also home to the Pink House, which is one of the oldest buildings in the state and is the second oldest residence in Charleston after the Colonel William Rhett House.
We finished off their session by walking up to the top of one of the parking garages near Waterfront Park to take in the views of the Battery. We also brought a bottle of champagne for Brittany & David, and we popped some bubbly to close out their session and celebrate!
Chalmers Street

“Justin and Lauren are AMAZING! They were easy to work with throughout the entire process – very responsive and organized. We are getting married in Austin, but got engaged in Charleston, so we wanted to take our engagement photos in Downtown Charleston. They have a engagement shoot photo guide that is sent prior to the shoot which gives you suggestions on what to wear and let’s you know what you can expect before, during and after the shoot. Lauren recommended that we do a sunrise session because of how busy downtown gets during the evening. Lauren was so fun to work with during the shoot! We were a little nervous but she was so encouraging and made us feel comfortable right away. We ended up having a blast and didn’t want it to end! Lauren ended the shoot with mimosas on the rooftop of a parking garage that looks out over the water and those are some of our favorite pictures! Our photos turned out SO well. We really like the style of the editing and have received so many compliments on the photos. We will 100% recommend them to our friends and would work with them in the future if the opportunity arises. If we could give them 10 stars we would! Thank you Justin and Lauren!!!”

Having your engagement pictures taken in Charleston, especially downtown, is a great choice because there are endless locations to choose from.
